Carmel Highlands Seascapes

Approaching the entrance of this extensively remodeled Carmel Highlands home, one can’t help but be captured by the majesty of the Pacific Ocean. A primary element of the transformation of this 3,247-square-foot residence was opening it up to the seascape in the near distance. The roof structure was altered to allow an 8-foot high, three-panel glass slider that stretches 26-feet across the main living spaces on the ocean side. A second two-panel slider on the east facing side affords a 16-foot panorama. The 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home, plus a detached 1-bedroom, 1-bath guest house, provides ample space and privacy for the homeowner and guests. A 1,200-square-foot deck was crafted to take advantage of the stellar vistas. Green building principles were followed throughout including a state-of-the-art FanTech Heat Recovery Ventilation unit that works in tandem with the furnace.
